Recently, I read a very exciting and unpopular book called Moby-Dick, by Herman Melville. This is a story about Captain Ahab, who led a whaling ship. He and his crew chase and fight the beluga whale, known as the white whale. The story is both exciting and sad because in the end everyone dies, including the whales.
The captain, is so determined that he risks everything in order to get revenge and kill Dick the white Whale. In the past, beluga whales bit his legs off. It was as if Ahab had gone mad in the story. Killing Moby Dick was his only thought. His madness reminded me of the crazy experience I had when I was first introduced to this game called Diablo over 10 years ago. I was so into it, I played until 2 in the morning. I felt terrible the next day due to lack of sleep, but I played again in the evening. I feel sorry after playing, but I cant stop playing! The madness lasted for about 10 days. In the end, I decided to stop the game for good and completely it from my computer. Im glad I did it then. Even though sometimes I really want to download games again, I still manage to distract myself by doing something fun, like watching a movie or playing sports.
Think about the damage to my health and career if I keep doing this for a while longer? I believe everyone should act in moderation. We shouldnt go to extremes like Captain Ahab.
