rain的用法

　　1.rain用作名詞

　　rain的意思是“雨”,通常用作不可數(shù)名詞, a rain指“一次雨、一陣雨、一場(chǎng)…樣的雨”, rains指“幾場(chǎng)雨,大陣雨”。

　　the rains指“雨季”, rains可受May,July等修飾。

　　“小雨”是light rain,“大雨”是heavy rain。

　　The rains have failed again in the Horn of Africa.

　　雨季又沒(méi)有光顧非洲之角。

　　The boys went for a walk despite of the rain.

　　盡管下雨，孩子們還是去散步。

　　The rain beat against the windows.雨水拍打在窗戶(hù)上。

　　2.rain用作動(dòng)詞

　　rain用作動(dòng)詞時(shí)作“下雨”解,多用作不及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作及物動(dòng)詞,通常表示雨下得很大,可接drops等名詞作賓語(yǔ)。

　　rain表示“下雨”時(shí),主語(yǔ)一般用代詞it。當(dāng)主語(yǔ)不是it時(shí),常表示“…雨點(diǎn)般地落下”。

　　“因雨取消會(huì)議、比賽”等常用被動(dòng)結(jié)構(gòu),英式英語(yǔ)常用rain off,而美式英語(yǔ)則常用rain out。

　　If it doesn't rain tomorrow, we'll have a picnic.如果明天不下雨，我們就去野餐。

　　It rained the whole weekend.整個(gè)周末都在下雨。
